Oh, this makes me mad. Google has taken Google Archive, merged it with their regular search, and gotten rid of most of its functionality. This blog here complained of it - they're the ones who turned me onto it in the first place. It was a really great tool in researching the past and what the media said back when quickly. If an article had disappeared from its original place, often there were other articles that quoted it that you could still get.
What's left is the Wayback Machine at http://www.archive.org/web/web.php. This is a nonprofit, so perhaps it will stick around longer.
This loss of functionality is a shame. It seems the Powers That Be are tightening their noose again. It's hard to research past government and corporate wrongs and prove they're lying now about the past, when the past becomes a muddy, murky, hard to confirm morass.
